GUIRARD / ABOUT MARK
Kitchen designer and founder of Guirard Kitchens.
Designing practical, considered kitchens for London homes, property professionals and residential developments.
Meet the designer
Mark leads every Guirard Kitchens project with a straightforward belief: a kitchen should look refined, but it must also make everyday life easier.
He works directly with homeowners, developers and trade professionals, developing layouts that feel natural, storage that is genuinely useful and finishes that suit the architecture of the property.
Mark's story
Mark's route into kitchen design began during an early home renovation. The existing kitchen looked acceptable, but the layout was awkward: preparation space was limited, cupboards opened into one another and the most-used items were stored in the least convenient places.
Rather than accepting a standard replacement, Mark measured the room himself, studied how it was actually used and repeatedly reworked the plan. He became absorbed in the relationship between proportion, movement, storage and materials. The finished room did more than look better — it changed how the space worked every day.
Friends, family and property contacts soon began asking him to apply the same thinking to their projects. Those early commissions developed into Guirard Kitchens: a design service built around careful planning, honest advice and personal involvement from the first idea through to the final specification.
Design philosophy
Every design starts with the property, the available space and the way the client lives.
Movement, appliance positions, work surfaces and storage are planned before decorative choices.
Materials, colours, handles, lighting and finishing details are brought together as one coherent scheme.
A personal service
Clients work directly with Mark. That keeps communication clear and ensures the original design intent is carried through the complete project.
There is no unnecessary theatre and no standard template forced onto the room. The aim is simply to create a kitchen that feels right for the client, the building and the way the space will be used.
